2011 Volunteer Groups

1. Rachel Garozzo worked on campus to update our wall of pictures that feature our community homes
2. Seven RAs from Wash U painted a hallway at our apartment building in Overland
3. Six Alpha Phi Omega members from Lindenwood picked up 21 lawn bags full of leaves at a home in St. Charles
4. Nine students from Northwestern U spent two days of their spring break beautifying our campus
5. Six Alpha Phi Omega members from Lindenwood planted grass at one of our homes in Florissant
6. Two teachers and six students from Webster Groves HS gardened on our campus
7. 10 volunteers from Cassidy Turley landscaped on our campus
8. 15 volunteers from Living Word UMC landscaped and painted at a Rainbow home in St. Charles
9. Eight members of Lving Word UMC landscaped and cleared vegetation in Hazelwood
10. Six women from Cassidy Turley spent a very hot afternoon raking and planting at our apartment complex in Overland
11. 16 member from Ameren's Energy Efficiency and Demand Response team made four of our homes more energy efficient
12. Nine volunteers from Cassidy Turley stained a privacy fence, planted grass, and cleared ivy at a home in Crestwood
13. 30 dads and daughters from The Veiled Prophet worked together painting and landscaping at the 13 homes on our campus
14. 12 dads and daughters from The Veiled Prophet beautified two of our homes in Florissant
15. Eight volunteers from TEKsystems beautified our new home in Spanish Lake
16. Seven employees from TEKsystems landscaped at a Rainbow home in St. Peters
17. 15 dads and daughters from The Veiled Prophet built a garden wall and stained a deck in Spanish Lake
18. Members of our Young Professionals Committee stained a fence and landscaped on campus
19. Seven TEKsystems employees helped by landscaping and painting on our campus
20. Three members of Alpha Phi Omega from Lindenwood University landscaped in the rain at a house in St. Charles
21. Five employees from TEKsystems, two students from Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School, and another volunteer worked on our campus
22. 14 students and two professors from Maryville volunteered on campus

7. Rainbow Friend, Billy, planted a garden in Bridgeton
8. Webster's Math Club cleared vegetation on campus (Picture 6)
9. Bernie, a friend of Rainbow, laid pavers on campus
10. Aon Risk Service's employees landscaped in Olivette
11. Billy and three members of Lindenwood's Alpha Phi Omega stained a ramp in St. Charles
12. SLU students raked leaves on campus
13. Wash U students stained a large deck in Maryland Heights
14. Dan Veile & Friends stained a deck in Crestwood
15. Beta Theta Pi's from Wash U and to Matt Garozzo raked leaves, mulched, and stained a deck in Maryland Heights

 

Picnic Volunteers

A group of SLU graduates helped serve BBQ at our Annual Rainbow Picnic for residents and support staff on July 11, 2010.  Over 150 people enjoyed great food, music, caricatures, and magic.

Elsevier

In May, an Elsevier Volunteer Team worked on our newest Rainbow home. The group trimmed bushes, planted rose bushes, and cleared the overgrowth in the backyard. 

Living Word United Methodist Church

Dedicated family members spent a Sunday in May planting bushes and spreading mulch in front of our Community Center and the group homes.

 

SLU Volunteers

 

Students from SLU did a great job of cleaning up all the landscaped areas on our main campus in April.

 


Washington University

Each month, from September 2009 through April 2010, a group of RA's from Washington University spent one Saturday morning doing work on various Rainbow homes–painting, raking, planting, etc.
