Serving Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Promise Community Homes (PCH) is here to help answer “what’s next?” for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

In the St. Louis area alone, hundreds of people with disabilities are waiting to leave institutions, substandard housing, nursing homes, or the care of aging parents.

A moment of the day in the life…

What starts as a clogged toilet can turn into quite the adventure! 🚽🔧 Maintenance Technician Josh Lovis drained and removed the basement fixture, uncovered a cracked flange, wrestled with concrete screws, and when it still wouldn’t flush, installed a brand-new Champion Chair-Height toilet for extra ease of use. 💪💙

Thank you, Josh, for tackling every twist and turn to keep our homes accessible and comfortable. 🙌

💛 Thanks to support from the @danabrowntrust, our Venue Victorious program is opening doors! 💛

This summer, we’re proud to welcome @lifebridgestl's youth campers to the PCH community center—a one-of-a-kind, inclusive space for kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

From our fully accessible gym to an indoor therapeutic pool with lift systems, our community center is a place where every child can truly be a kid! 💦🏀💙

🚐💙 Meet our newly wrapped utility van!

Most days, our maintenance team rolls up in pick-up trucks loaded with tools, flooring, yard waste, or ladders. But when it’s time to transport something that needs to be enclosed—like an appliance or cabinet—a utility van is key.

Earlier this year, we got a newer van with more interior room, and now it’s fully wrapped in our PCH branding thanks to @logodaddygraphics!

Keeping our homes functional and safe—with a little help from the right vehicles—is part of the mission.

Testimonials

I just wanted to let you know that the move-in tour went very well. The family thought it was beautiful and there were even some tears involved. Thank you for providing beautiful homes for the people we support.

Partner Agency

My sister lived with our parents until our mom was unable to care for her anymore due to illness. At that time, the only place for my sister to live was in a habilitation center. I was referred to a support agency, and together we approached PCH (then called Rainbow Village) to find a community home for my sister and some roommates. Rainbow Village was able to find a great home in a safe community for the residents and her whole attitude has changed. I noticed that she smiles more and is able to do things we take for granted (i.e. can go to the kitchen and get food when she wants to). The home is great and beautifully maintained. The neighbors even comment that it is one of the best looking homes in the neighborhood. I am very pleased that my sister is provided a safe, comfortable and affordable home in the community for the rest of her life.

Sister of a PCH Resident

Promise Community Homes serves two constituent groups equally – both the disabled and their families. The homes provide the ability to live and belong in community, and thereby enrich the lives of its residents. In turn, providing a safe and happy place to live gives their loved ones peace of mind and freedom of their own. As someone with a developmentally disabled family member, I understand the substantial benefits. By supporting this organization, I’m helping to create and maintain the home and community environment that means so much to so many.
